Events

The Engagement and Events (E&E) team effectively coordinate, plan, support and deliver all Council's major and minor events, functions, civic ceremonies, conferences, summits, awards and openings.

Council launched its Capricorn Coast Region Event Strategy 2025 in October 2019, with the intention of using this document as the road map for a strategic and coordinated approach to growing existing events and attracting new events within Livingstone Shire with the aim of putting the Capricorn Coast region on the tourism events map.

Events are extremely important to Livingstone Shire, being one of the best ways to bring our community together and attract visitors to our region, contributing social, cultural and economic benefits.

We encourage feedback and suggestions from the community on proposed community events and projects to help us understand your opinion and views and what you would like to see in the Shire.

  • Livingstone Shire Council's annual Australia Day Awards are held to acknowledge the valuable contributions made by local citizens and groups to our community. The Australia Day Awards are administered by a local committee on behalf of the Livingstone Shire Council, with the committee selecting each award category winner.  Being nominated for an Australia Day Award is a great honour. The awards give the community an opportunity to publicly recognise and reward an outstanding person within our Shire.
