Lodging a Development Application

If your proposal as been determined to be assessable development you will be required to lodge a development application to Council for a development permit. Council encourages the engagement of a Town Planning Consultant if your application is complex or if you need assistance with providing a properly made application.

Duty Planner Advice and Pre-lodgement Meetings

While pre-lodgement is not part of the formal development assessment process, contacting the assessment manager (and any referral agencies that may be involved) before lodging an application is always a good idea. This will identify any potential issues or additional information requirements that can help the application track through the system smoothly.

Application Forms and Supporting Documents

A properly made application may require some or all of the following forms and supporting documentation/information:

  • Completed DA Form 1 (all mandatory sections)
  • Completed DA Form 2 (if applicable)
  • Owners Consent (if applicable)
  • Relevant plans as per the DA Form 1
  • Supporting information addressing any applicable assessment benchmarks
  • Technical reports (ie; slope stability report)
  • Payment of the application fee as per Councils Fees and Charges

Where to submit your application

All applications should be lodged using Council’s online system this will provide you with an email confirmation notifying you of the application number. Payment of the applicable application fees are made at the same time. To lodge an application online you are required to be a Registered User.

Registration allows you to access secure online Council Services with a Username and valid email address. Your details will be checked against current Council name and address records and your registration will be linked where relevant. Your request for registration will be processed within two business days and you will be advised by email when you can sign in.
