Programs and Opportunities

Livingstone Shire Council is committed to providing opportunities that help young people stay active, connected and empowered. Council’s creative, passionate and community-minded Youth Services staff design programs that are fun, inclusive, hands-on and engaging, because we know that’s what works best for young people. From workshops to events and training, our initiatives aim to build real-life skills and healthy habits. We also thrive on collaboration, so if you’ve got an idea or would like to co-design a youth activity or program, we’d love to hear from you.

Stay informed about upcoming opportunities by checking Council’s Event Calendar or following Youth in Livingstone on Facebook.

  • Struggling to connect and find meaningful 1:1 time with your daughter?

This is the program for you! This 6-week program will leave you feeling inspired, empowered, and connected with your daughter. We want to encourage you to meet others with pre-teen daughters and to develop self-worth and identity!

The goal of the project is to empower young woman (aged 8 – 13), alongside their mothers, to identify their individual strengths to collaboratively tackle issues such as gender-based violence, self-esteem, body image, mental health, and interpersonal family relationships.

Keep an eye on the Youth in Livingstone Facebook page and Council's Event Calendar for future program dates, or contact CDSR@livingstone.qld.gov.au to go on our waitlist!

Fishing Friendzies Social Sessions are regular catch ups on the Capricorn Coast QLD for keen young fishers! All are welcome to get involved!

The Capricorn Coast provides the perfect natural environment that attracts recreational fishers, both locally and afar. With such an abundance of fishing opportunities, it makes sense to encourage young people to experience and learn about this healthy habit.

These social sessions provide an opportunity for young people with all levels of fishing experience to mingle with other likeminded peers while catching a fish, or three.

Some of our regular fishing spots include Ross Creek, Causeway Lake and Lammermoor!

    • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

    • Non-accredited Barista Training

These opportunities are promoted through Council’s Event Calendar, the Easter on the Capricorn Coast School Holiday Program, and the Youth in Livingstone Facebook page.
