Homemaker Stage 2
The Capricorn Coast Homemaker Centre is a major commercial precinct on Yeppoon Road, designed to provide greater choice and convenience for residents while supporting local jobs and investment.
Stage 1 was completed in 2019 and has grown into a thriving retail hub, home to major retailers and local businesses including Bunnings Warehouse, Reece Plumbing, Gus' Coffee, Hungry Jack's and 7-Eleven.
Stage 2 will build on this success, creating opportunities for further large-format retail and commercial development on Council-owned land.
Supporting Livingstone's Growth
The Homemaker Centre is part of Council's broader vision for a stronger and more prosperous Livingstone.
Stage 2 supports Council's strategic priorities by:
- attracting private sector investment
- creating local employment opportunities
- strengthening Yeppoon as a regional commercial centre
- improving access to retail and services
- supporting population growth and reducing the need for residents to travel outside the Shire for shopping.
What's Planned for Stage 2?
Stage 2 involves relocating Council's existing depot to make way for two large-format commercial lots.
The additional retail and commercial space will help strengthen Yeppoon as a regional commercial hub, provide greater shopping choice locally and create opportunities for new businesses and employment.
The two proposed lots are:
- Lot 4 – 1.025 hectares (10,250m²)
- Lot 502 – 2.079 hectares (20,790m²)
Lot sizes and the proposed development are subject to change.
