Community Nursery
Located within the Yeppoon Landfill, the Community Nursery specializes in growing a wide variety of plants endemic to the Capricornia region. We collect seeds from local species and grow them to ensure that the plants we offer are suited to the unique conditions of our region. Whether you’re looking to enhance your garden, take part in environmental projects, or support local biodiversity, the Community Nursery has something for everyone.
Our dedicated team of volunteers contributes around 3,000 hours of work annually, playing a crucial role in ensuring the health and vitality of our nursery. Their hard work allows us to offer high-quality native plants at affordable prices to residents. We also supply free plants to community revegetation projects i.e. Fitzroy Basin Authority, Landcare, and Livingstone Shire Council projects.
Nursery Opening Hours:
Wednesdays & Fridays from 8am – 3pm
NEW! Saturday from 8am - 11am
Payment is by EFTPOS only.
Due to popular demand, we now hold regular native plant sales every Saturday! With tubestock available for $4 each and 100mm pots for $5 each, it’s a fantastic opportunity to find unique, locally grown plants that aren’t available in other nurseries. The proceeds from these sales help fund community revegetation projects and maintain the nursery operations.
For more information or plant advice, feel free to contact us on 1300 790 919 or visit during our regular opening hours.
The nursery usually has from fifty to a hundred different species in stock. Stock availability is dependent upon the time of year, seed availability, current orders/projects, and propagation requirements. Check out the beauty of a selection of the species the nursery stocks below.
