Local Laws

Local Laws Review 2024

Local laws make our community a safer and more harmonious place to live. They promote health and safety, reduce environmental impacts, and foster general stability in our community.

Livingstone Shire Council officers have completed a full review of our shire's previous local laws. Council is proposing thirteen revised local laws and two new local laws to more closely align with the needs of our growing community.

The key outcome of the review is to ensure that the local laws are contemporary and relevant to the Livingstone Shire and simplified in a way that makes them easily understood.

The community can review the proposed changes to the Local Laws by visiting the Get Involved portal of Council’s website or in person at Council’s Customer Service Centres in Yeppoon or Emu Park.
