Council is once again inviting the Shire’s event organisers to apply for funding or in-kind support as Round 2 of the 2025/26 Event Sponsorship program officially opens next week!

Tailored to amplify the economic and communal benefits of local events, this program aims to empower local organisers, spanning from small-scale events to larger economic endeavours.

Recreation and Culture Committee Co-Chair Councillor Andrea Friend said Council’s event sponsorship program is proud to support both major and minor events in our region.

“From cultural festivals to sporting and live music events, as well as community gatherings, these events not only showcase the unique identity of the region, but also attract thousands of visitors annually, strengthening the local economy and fostering a sense of pride within the community,” Cr Friend said.

“The latest round of sponsorship presents an exciting opportunity for event organisers to secure financial or in-kind support for events scheduled between 1 January to 30 June 2026.

“This ongoing sponsorship program has assisted in bringing many local events to life for the wider community and visitors alike.

“These events and experiences enrich what makes Livingstone Shire so special, while also providing an economic boost to local businesses.

“From major annual events like the Great Australia Day Beach Party, Capricorn King of Kings Fishing Competition, Yeppoon Running Festival, Lions Club of Emu Park’s Festival of the Wind, Sunset Sessions Music Festival, Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest, and Oktoberfest hosted by the Lions Club of Emu Park, to smaller grassroots events, these initiatives showcase the incredible talent and dedication of organisers – and Council is proud to support them all.”

Applications for Round 2 2025/26 will open on Monday 7 July 2025 and close at midnight on Friday 8 August 2025.
