Sewer Relining and Inspection Program Commencing Soon
Livingstone Shire Council will soon commence essential sewer infrastructure works to around 200 homes in Yeppoon and close to 40 properties in Emu Park with inspection and maintenance activities scheduled across various localities from late June.
Council has engaged Relining Solutions Pty Ltd to undertake CCTV inspections and condition assessments of sewer mains across the region, as part of a broader strategy to maintain reliable and efficient wastewater services.
The program will be delivered in staged portions, with the first stage involving the cleaning and inspection of existing pipelines via manholes. These works form a critical part of Council’s ongoing capital works investment in infrastructure renewal and will be followed by relining and sealing works at a later date.
During this initial inspection stage, works will be carried out by Relining Solutions without the need to access homes or buildings, provided manhole access is available. Residents do not need to be on site during the work. However, if access arrangements need to be made or the proposed timing is not suitable, residents are encouraged to contact the contractor directly.
While no disruption to water or wastewater services is expected, residents may notice temporary noise, odours, lighting, or increased vehicle movements in the area. As a precaution, residents are advised to keep toilet lids closed during pressure cleaning to avoid potential splashback.
Contractors will be operating under strict safety, noise and environmental controls. All personnel will carry identification and works will occur between 7:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday, and 8:30am to 4:00pm on weekends if required.
Stage 2 of the program, involving sewer relining, and Stage 3, connection sealing, will resume at a later date. Affected property owners will be notified prior to these works commencing.
