Livingstone Shire is set to welcome two magical nights of live folk music this July as the Festival of Small Halls rolls into The Caves Community Hall for the very first time and makes a much-anticipated return to the Emu Park Cultural Hall.

Produced by Woodfordia Inc, the Festival of Small Halls Winter Tour 2025: Coastal Queensland features acclaimed international duo Champagne Weather and Melbourne favourites Charm of Finches. The tour is renowned for bringing high-quality folk and contemporary acoustic music to regional towns across Australia, transforming local halls into intimate stages for unforgettable performances.

The Caves Community Hall, with its rich history dating back to 1925, will host its debut event on Sunday, 13 July 2025, while Emu Park Cultural Hall, a cherished community venue, will once again welcome audiences on Wednesday, 16 July 2025.

Co-Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee, Councillor Andrea Friend said Council was proud to support such a meaningful and memorable event for residents.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Festival of Small Halls to The Caves for the very first time – it’s a moment of pride for the community and a chance to celebrate music in a hall that’s been a local icon for generations,” Cr Friend said.

“This event brings world-class music to our doorstep and gives residents the opportunity to enjoy incredible performances without having to travel far. It’s all about connection through music, community, and storytelling.”

“Whether you’re a long-time festivalgoer or experiencing it for the first time, these concerts promise warmth, fun, and something truly special. I encourage everyone to come along and support these fantastic events.”

Festivalgoers at both events will be treated to an opening set by local talent Ben Brady, an acoustic blues artist known for his soulful voice, raw energy, and over 20 years of electrifying live performances.

Touring internationally for the first time as a duo, Champagne Weather (Anne Janelle and James Hill) are thrilled to be a part of the tour, sharing their blend of traditional and contemporary folk.

“We couldn't be more thrilled! We will remember this one forever,” they said.

“It has been too many years since we performed in Australia, and we are excited to be reunited with our fans and to make new ones along the way.”

Joining them are Charm of Finches, a sister act from Melbourne praised for their signature harmonies and heartfelt storytelling.

“Music is such a great way to build community and we’re so happy to be part of that,” said sisters Ivy and Mabel.

“We’ve never been to northern Queensland and so we can’t wait to visit!”

Tickets are just $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
