Anglicare Central Queensland (AnglicareCQ), in partnership with the Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council are delivering 26 homes, for families on the Capricorn Coast.

The 20 social and six affordable two-bedroom homes will be located within walking distance of a school and local shopping precinct and will feature private outdoor areas and shared community spaces for children to play and families to come together.

The homes are to be built on a 1.573-hectare block of land in, Emu Park. The project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.

The project will provide timely affordable housing on the Capricorn Coast as the area continues to battle with inflated private rental market prices and low vacancy rates.

The project is being supported by the Queensland Government and contributes to the Queensland Government’s target of 53,500 more social and community homes by 2044.

Livingstone Shire Council donated the land for the housing development, as they look to proactively tackle the housing crisis gripping the region.

AnglicareCQ, Livingstone Shire Council and the Queensland Government will mark this significant milestone with the symbolic turning of the first sod, signalling the commencement of this important housing project.

The event, attended by local dignitaries and project stakeholders, will showcase the commitment to sustainable development and future growth for the region.
