Livingstone Shire Council welcomes newest residents in celebration of National Families Week!

Back

In celebration of National Families Week 2025, Livingstone Shire Council is delighted to invite local families to a heart-warming community event that welcomes Livingstone Shire’s newest residents — our babies!

This special event offers families the chance to have their newborns officially welcomed to the Livingstone community, celebrating the joy and connection that new life brings to our region.

Recreation and Culture Committee Co-Chair Andrea Friend said the celebration provides a wonderful opportunity to recognise the newest members of our Shire and support families during the early stages of parenthood.

“Welcoming our youngest residents is a meaningful way to celebrate family, connection, and community spirit here in Livingstone,” Cr Fiend said.

“It’s a great chance for parents to meet others, build support networks, and hear from experts in early childhood development.”

Alongside the official welcome, participants will enjoy presentations from guest speakers in the early childhood field and have the chance to connect with other local families in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Eligibility:

  • Children must be 18 months old or younger on the day of the event
