As Round Two applications for the 2023/24 Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) approaches, artists both established and emerging, and those that deliver community arts projects, are being encouraged to apply and unleash their creative potential.

RADF is a collaboration between the Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council that inspires and supports local creators in their artistic endeavours.

The program not only nurtures creativity but also empowers our community to connect, share, and celebrate the vibrant arts and culture that our Shire has to offer.

A RADF spokesperson said there had been countless local groups and individual artists who have benefitted from receiving the funding support, providing an exciting opportunity to realise their artistic ambitions.

“The RADF program has assisted in bringing to life many wonderful arts projects and initiatives throughout Livingstone over the years, which has tangible positive economic and social impacts,” the spokesperson said.

“Whether it be a vibrant art exhibition, an immersive workshop, a song writing retreat or a captivating performance, this ongoing program supports the artistic expression of Livingstone residents and community groups, allowing them to share their talents with the broader community.

"The RADF program is a driving force for artistic innovation across the Shire, with recipients using their grants to create unique events and activities, or to explore professional development opportunities.

Previous RADF-funded projects incorporated artistic growth and cultural enrichment, including providing a platform for emerging talent in programs like the ArtSHINE Launch Pad and Accelerator Program, nurturing song writing skills through retreats, and offering improvisation workshops to aspiring performers.

Applications for RADF Round Two 2023/24 will be open from Thursday, 29 February and close on Thursday, 31 March 2024.
