Independence Day Service of Remembrance
Join us at St Christopher’s Chapel for a special Independence Day service of remembrance honouring the enduring bond between our region and the United States Forces during World War II.
St Christopher’s Chapel will host the annual Independence Day service of remembrance on Sunday 6 July 2025 at 2:00pm, marking 82 years since the historic chapel was built by the United States Army in 1943.
Nestled in Nerimbera, this rustic open-air chapel served as a place of reflection and worship for American troops recuperating in the region during World War II.
The service honours the enduring friendship formed between the local community and US Forces, with both The Star-Spangled Banner and Advance Australia Fair performed as part of the commemorations.
All are welcome to attend this heartfelt tribute at one of Livingstone’s most treasured heritage sites.
