Prepare and Save at your Visit
Save money by sorting your load
Sort your waste before you visit one of the region's waste facilities and save time, money and effort.
Separating recyclable materials from general waste makes disposal quicker, safer and more affordable.
How to sort your load
Separate waste into categories before loading:
- General Waste: Load at the front of your trailer (closest to the towing vehicle)
- Greenwaste, timber, soil and concrete: Keep materials separated and position them through the middle and sides of the load.
- Scrap metal and flattened cardboard: Place on top for easy access.
- Used cooking and motor oil: Transport in sealed containers to prevent leaks.
- Recyclables and reuseable items: Load at the furthest from your towing vehicle for easy unloading at recycling drop-off areas.
Secure your load
All loads must be securely covered or tied down using:
- Tarpaulins
- Nets
- Straps
- Ropes
This helps prevent litter and improves road safety.
