Donations

Provides financial assistance to Livingstone Shire residents who have been selected to represent their region, state or country in recognised sporting, academic or arts opportunities.

Funding Available:

• Within Queensland: up to $150
• Interstate: up to $250
• International: up to $350

Provides small donations to schools, not-for-profit organisations and community groups delivering local initiatives or requiring minor support that benefits the community.

Funding Available

• Schools: up to $250
• Community organisations: Up to $1,000 annually for general donations
• Land use support: Up to $2,000 annually
• Community waste vouchers: Up to five vouchers annually

This support is available to Livingstone Shire residents who have been selected to represent their region, state or country in a recognised:

• Sporting championship or competition
• Academic competition or achievement
• Arts showcase, performance or exhibition
• Representative event or development opportunity

Applicants must demonstrate that:

• They have been formally selected to participate
• They are representing Livingstone Shire, Queensland or Australia
• Other funding opportunities have been explored

Donations may assist with travel or equipment costs associated with:

• Sporting championships
• Academic competitions
• Arts showcases
• Performance opportunities
• Representative events

Funding available:

• Within Queensland: up to $150
• Interstate: up to $250
• International: up to $350

Donations will not be provided for:

• Self-nominated competitions
• Masters Games participation
• Opportunities held within Livingstone Shire
• General travel requests
• Expenses eligible under another Council funding program

Assessment Process

Applications will be assessed by officers using the relevant financial delegations structure (Manager/General Manager/Council). 

Notification

Applicants will be notified within forty-eight hours (48hrs) that their application has been received and the expected timeline for a decision.

This support is available to:

• Schools
• Not-for-profit organisations
• Community groups

Applicants must demonstrate:

• The request provides a benefit to the Livingstone Shire community
• Other funding opportunities have been explored where relevant
• The request does not meet the criteria of another Council funding program

Donations may support:

• Community initiatives
• Minor operational assistance
• School awards or recognition programs
• Land use support activities
• Community clean-up activities through waste vouchers

Funding available:

Schools

• Up to $250 per school per year for awards and recognition programs

Community organisations

• Up to $1,000 per organisation per year for general donations

Land use support

• Up to $2,000 per organisation per year (reimbursed based on invoice)

Community waste vouchers

• Up to five vouchers per incorporated community group per year

Donations will not be provided for:

• Commercial businesses
• Government departments
• Food or beverage purchases
• Council rates or fees (excluding eligible waste vouchers)
• Requests eligible under another Council funding program
• Activities that do not demonstrate community benefit
