New and Improved Waste App Launching Soon for Livingstone Residents
Published on 15 June 2026
Livingstone Shire residents will soon have access to a new and improved waste and recycling app, with Council set to launch the upgraded LoopedIn Councils app from 1 July 2026.
Developed specifically for local governments across Australia, LoopedIn Councils provides councils and communities with smarter digital tools to streamline waste and recycling services, improve communication and deliver real-time information directly to residents.
The platform is currently trusted by more than 50 councils nationwide and has recorded more than 250,000 app downloads across Australia.
Mayor Adam Belot said the new app will replace the existing Livingstone Waste Wise App to deliver a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for ratepayers while improving how Council shares information across multiple platforms.
“The new LoopedIn Councils app is designed to make managing household waste and recycling easier and more convenient for our residents,” Mayor Belot said.
“From checking bin collection days and accessing waste vouchers, through to searching the A–Z of Waste and receiving important news and alerts, the app puts all the information residents need right at their fingertips.
“Importantly, this upgrade comes at no additional cost to ratepayers and will help streamline Council systems and information sharing into the future.”
Infrastructure Portfolio Co-Lead Councillor Rhodes Watson said the app would also retain the digital waste voucher system.
“The Waste eVouchers will work the same way as the previous app voucher system, continuing to offer a more convenient and environmentally friendly solution,” Cr Watson said.
“Residents won’t need to worry about losing or forgetting their vouchers, as all annual eVouchers will be securely stored within the LoopedIn Councils app.
“The app also includes helpful reminders for kerbside collection days, making it easier than ever for residents to stay on top of their waste and recycling services.”
Features of the new LoopedIn Councils app include:
- Bin Collection and Special Event Calendar
- Waste Voucher Access
- Waste Facilities Information
- Bin Information
- A–Z of Waste
