As part of Livingstone Shire Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting and encouraging health and wellbeing opportunities across the region, Council is excited to announce the Healthy & Active Livingstone Program.

This initiative brings together free and low-cost health, fitness, and wellbeing activities already available across the Shire, making it easier for residents to find and take part in activities that support physical, mental, and social wellbeing.

Recreation and Culture Portfolio Co-lead, Councillor Lance Warcon, said the program reflects Council’s ongoing focus on preventative health and community connection.

“Healthy & Active Livingstone is about making it easier for our community to prioritise their wellbeing,” Cr Warcon said.

“The program aims to increase participation, support local providers, and create an ongoing network of inclusive, community-led opportunities that people can easily discover, return to and enjoy at their own pace.

“From yoga and Pilates to Tai Chi, dance, walking groups, pickleball and community singing, there truly is something for everyone to try.”

The program features a wide variety of weekly activities delivered by passionate local providers across Yeppoon, Emu Park and surrounding areas.

Activities include beachside yoga sessions, gentle seniors’ exercise classes, social pickleball, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, ballet for seniors, community dance afternoons, Parkrun, and singing groups that support health and happiness.

Residents can explore the full activity schedule and find options that suit their lifestyle, location and ability through Council’s online Healthy & Active Livingstone directory.

Council is continuing to invite qualified local providers to be part of the 2026 Healthy & Active Livingstone program and support the shared goal of making healthy, active lifestyles more accessible across the community.

Participating providers will be promoted through Council’s online activity directory and schedule, helping residents easily discover and connect with local health and wellbeing opportunities.
