Supporting the Events That Showcase Livingstone Shire

Livingstone Shire Council is once again inviting local event organisers to apply for funding or in-kind support, with Round 1 of the 2026/27 Event Sponsorship Program now open!

Designed to maximise the economic and community benefits of events across the region, the program supports a diverse range of initiatives – from small community gatherings through to large-scale events with significant economic impact.

Mayor Adam Belot said Council is proud to continue backing both major and grassroots events throughout the Shire.

“From cultural festivals and sporting competitions to live music and community celebrations, these events showcase the unique identity of our region while attracting thousands of visitors each year,” Mayor Belot said.

“They play a vital role in strengthening the local economy and fostering a strong sense of community pride.”

Recreation and Culture Portfolio Co-Lead, Councillor Lance Warcon, said the upcoming round provides a valuable opportunity for organisers planning events between to access either financial or in-kind support.

“This ongoing sponsorship program has helped bring many local events to life for residents and visitors alike,” Cr Warcon said.

“These events and experiences enrich what makes Livingstone Shire so special, while also delivering important economic benefits for local businesses.”

“From major annual events such as the Great Australia Day Beach Party, Capricorn King of Kings Fishing Competition, Yeppoon Running Festival, Lions Club of Emu Park’s Festival of the Wind, Sunset Sessions Music Festival, Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest, and Oktoberfest hosted by the Lions Club of Emu Park, through to smaller grassroots events, these initiatives highlight the incredible passion and dedication of local organisers – and Council is proud to support them all.”

Applications for Round 1 of the 2026/27 Event Sponsorship Program is now open and closes at midnight on Friday 27 February.

Types of Sponsorship Available
• Community Hall and Market Fund A dedicated in-kind allocation for organisers of events or activities held at Emu Park Cultural Hall, Yeppoon Town Hall, or any park or reserve within the Shire. In-kind value is calculated based on the adopted hire rate. This level of sponsorship is now available year-round.
• Community Event – up to $5,000 • Regional Event – $5,001 to $10,000
• Economic Event – $10,001 to $20,000
