Livingstone Shire Council is inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the start of a brand-new year at New Year’s Eve at the Beach, a free, family-friendly event set against the stunning backdrop of the Yeppoon Foreshore Amphitheatre Stage.

Kicking off from 5pm on 31 December, the foreshore will come alive with an exciting line-up of talented local performers, fun activities for kids, and a spectacular 22-minute laser light show that is sure to delight all ages.

The evening begins with a special opening song from Izabella Ford, winner of Livingstone’s Got Talent. The celebrations continue with performances from Belle Humble, MotherLove, and the Jason Rigby Band, who will perform on either side of the dazzling laser show at 8pm.

Audiences can also enjoy roving performers, circus activities, and two dynamic aerial acts throughout the night. Families are invited to settle in by the seaside, bring along their favourite local takeaway, and enjoy a relaxed picnic as the sun sets over the ocean — the perfect atmosphere to welcome 2026.

Recreation and Culture Portfolio Co-Lead, Councillor Andrea Friend, encouraged the community to join in the festivities and acknowledged the shared achievements of the past year.

“As we prepare to welcome a new year, I want to thank our community for their contribution to the year that was here in Livingstone Shire. Council is proud to represent such a wonderful region and the many industries it’s known for,” Cr Friend said.

“Our Shire is celebrated for its natural beauty — from islands and beaches to rainforests and bushland — but the beating heart of our community is its people. It’s the rich social fabric, our connectedness, and the spirit of our residents that make Livingstone Shire such a special place to live.”

This vibrant celebration forms part of Council’s Summer on the Capricorn Coast program, offering a fantastic range of activities and events across the school holidays for children and youth of all ages.

Please note that food vans will not be operating at this year’s event. Patrons are encouraged to support local businesses by picking up their favourite takeaway from nearby eateries to enjoy on the night.
