Have Your Say on the Lammermoor Beach (South) Draft Master Plan
Published on 09 October 2025
Livingstone Shire Council is inviting the community to help shape the future of Lammermoor Beach (South) by providing feedback on the newly released draft master plan, which outlines a coordinated vision for upgrading public spaces, pathways, and amenities in the area.
The draft plan proposes a range of improvements designed to make the southern section of Lammermoor Beach safer, more comfortable, and more enjoyable for the community.
Mayor Adam Belot said the proposed upgrades include enhanced pedestrian and cycling pathway connections, shaded seating areas, picnic tables, viewing platforms, landscaping, and lighting to improve safety and accessibility along existing routes.
“This important community project provides an opportunity for residents to directly influence how the area evolves over time,” Mayor Belot said.
“Lammermoor Beach is a much-loved part of our coastline and has significantly increased in popularity over recent years, and this plan aims to make the southern section even more welcoming while respecting its natural beauty.
“By improving pathways, adding shaded seating and viewing areas, and creating spaces for people to connect, we can enhance the experience for all who visit.
“We want to hear from as many residents as possible to ensure the final plan truly reflects the values and needs of our community.”
Features of the Draft Master Plan include:
- A raised viewing deck, recreational areas, and provision for fitness trail equipment
- Additional picnic areas and seating, improved lighting, and inclusion of interpretative signage and artwork/sculptures
- Improved pedestrian pathways and formalised car parking with dedicated Person with Disability parking bays.
