Livingstone Shire Council has welcomed more than 100 participants to its Building Opportunity Through Collaboration – Development Information Session, held this morning at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club.
Mayor Adam Belot said the event marked an important step forward in strengthening partnerships across the region as the Capricorn Coast continues to experience significant growth and transformation.
“Council was extremely pleased to see such a strong turnout. Bringing together developers, business leaders, consultants, and community representatives created a fantastic environment for positive, constructive discussions about our region’s future,” Mayor Belot said.
He said the presentations were designed to give attendees a clear understanding of where the region is heading and how collaboration will shape its success.
“We started with The Big Picture, providing an honest look at our community’s aspirations and the economic forces shaping the Capricorn Coast,” he said.
“We then outlined how Council is supporting growth through our New Communities initiatives — the planning, infrastructure and policy work that will guide development over the coming years.”
“Another key focus was Working Together, where we highlighted how better communication and collaboration between Council and industry can streamline processes and deliver better outcomes for everyone.”
“Our Blueprint Livingstone panel and Q&A wrapped up the session, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the long-term vision in more depth and ask the questions that matter most to them.”
Mayor Belot said the energy and engagement in the room demonstrated a shared commitment to shaping a prosperous and well-planned future for the Capricorn Coast.
“All attendees showed a genuine passion for our region and a willingness to work together,” he said. “This collaborative approach is vital as we manage growth while protecting what makes our community special.”
All proceeds from the $25 ticketed event will be donated to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal, supporting St Vincent de Paul to help local families in need during the festive season.
“Not only did we progress important regional conversations, but we also supported a great cause with close to $2400 raised,” Mayor Belot said.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, insights, and generosity.”
