The Capricorn Coast Writers Festival 2026 is a one-day celebration of local stories, voices and storytelling, set in the heart of the stunning Capricorn Coast.

This special mid-cycle festival shines a spotlight on writers from the region, celebrating the landscapes, histories and lived experiences that shape the Capricorn Coast. Across the day, audiences can enjoy a program of author talks, interactive workshops, pitching opportunities and conversations with local writers, offering inspiration for readers, writers and creatives alike.

Designed as a relaxed, one-day event, the festival allows visitors to immerse themselves in literary culture while leaving plenty of time to explore the region’s beaches, coastal walks, cafés and natural attractions. Whether you are an emerging writer, an avid reader, or a cultural traveller looking to experience the creative heartbeat of the coast, the Capricorn Coast Writers Festival offers a warm, welcoming and uniquely local experience.

A Student Writers Competition will also run alongside the festival, with entries closing on 30 April 2026, encouraging young storytellers to share their voices and stories inspired by the region.
