Join the annual Independence Day Service of Remembrance at the historic St Christopher's Chapel, Nerimbera, on Sunday 5 July 2026.
This special service acknowledges the significance of Independence Day and commemorates the enduring friendship between our region and the United States Forces who were stationed in Central Queensland during World War II.
Built in 1943 and made available to the U.S. Army by the Queensland Government, St Christopher's Chapel remains an important reminder of this shared history. Following the service, attendees are invited to enjoy light refreshments in the chapel grounds.
