Local artists, individuals, and organisations are being encouraged to bring their creative vision to life as Round One of the 2025/26 Regional Arts Development Fund opens from 1-31 August 2025.

The RADF program provides vital opportunities for the community to engage in and produce arts and cultural activities that foster social connections and enhance wellbeing.

Recreation and Culture Committee Co-Chair, Councillor Lance Warcon said the annual funding opportunity aims to build strong arts and cultural networks across our communities.

“The RADF program has assisted to deliver many wonderful community projects and workshops over the years in Livingstone Shire, helping to strengthen community connection through our shared love of the arts and culture,” Cr Warcon said.

“From music festivals to professional development opportunities, dance productions, filmmaker workshops, there’s an abundance of talented people in our Shire, and Council is proud to support their ideas and assist in bringing them to fruition.

“This also provides a platform to showcase the incredible talent and remarkable stories that can be found across our communities.”

Midpoint Theatre Company’s Creative Producer Jessica Lamb said their recent RADF funding allowed them to fully embrace a unique touring collaboration with JUTE Theatre Company and Overall Arts.

“We were able to platform three wonderful emerging actors from our community alongside the touring cast of Amber Grossmann’s ‘O, Ophelia’, and ensure our local artists were recognised and remunerated as the professionals they so clearly are. Thank you RADF!” Jessica said.\

In addition to applying for funding, interested participants can also register for two free Arts Professional Development Workshops delivered by arts consultant Olivia Everitt, to be held on Sunday 3 August.

The workshops will provide practical tools to help strengthen your project and funding applications.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a collaboration between state and local governments, investing in high-quality arts and cultural experiences across Queensland.

It supports key goals such as diversity and inclusivity, regional growth, and providing training, education, and employment opportunities for Queensland artists and communities.

Applications for the RADF grants open Friday 1 August and close Sunday, 31 August 2025.
