Livingstone Shire Council is encouraging all rural and agribusiness operators to complete the Disaster Impact Survey to help the Queensland Department of Primary Industries (DPI) get an accurate picture of the support and resources needed in our communities.

Mayor Adam Belot said accurate reporting is vital to ensure DPI can plan and prioritise relieve efforts.

“Even if the damage seems minor, providing details through the survey helps DPI and other agencies understand the scale of impact and prioritise recovery efforts,” Mayor Belot said.

“Flooding can be incredibly stressful for our farmers and rural businesses,” he added. “By taking a few moments to complete the survey, you’re helping us make sure support reaches those who need it most, as quickly as possible.”

“Our rural and agribusiness communities are the backbone of our region. Your feedback is critical—it allows us to tailor resources and support to where they are truly needed.”

“By reporting your losses, no matter how small, you’re helping speed up the recovery process for yourself, your neighbours, and the wider community.

“For those still dealing with the aftermath of the floods, I want to reassure everyone that Council, DPI, and other agencies are here to support you.

“Please reach out if you need help with the survey or understanding what support is available.”

Key information for completing the survey:

  • The survey is not an application for assistance but will help DPI activate applicable disaster recovery measures as quickly as possible.
  • Include date-stamped photos of any damage. Most mobile phone cameras do this automatically. Only take photos if it is safe.
  • If you require help completing the survey, email disasters@dpi.qld.gov.au or contact your peak industry body.
