Livingstone Shire Council is encouraging families to start planning their April break, with more than 14 free activities and events scheduled across the region as part of the 2026 School Holiday Program, running from 2–19 April.

From outdoor movies and live music to creative workshops, youth training and family-friendly festivals, the program offers something for children and young people of all ages.

Bookings for selected activities open at 12pm on Wednesday 18 March 2026, with several events operating as free drop-in sessions.

Mayor Adam Belot said the program continues to provide meaningful opportunities for young people to stay active, creative, and connected during the school holidays.

“The April school holidays are a fantastic time for families to get out and explore everything our community has to offer,” Mayor Belot said.

“We’re proud to deliver a program that brings young people together through creativity, music, outdoor activities and new learning experiences – all at no cost to families.”

A new addition to this year’s program is the Creative Kids Fun Factory, offering a morning packed with colourful, hands-on activities for children aged 5–15.

The event begins at Beaman Park from 9:30–11am with an energetic Circus and Bubble Playground, where children can try circus tricks, spin plates, twirl ribbons and create giant bubbles.

The fun continues at Yeppoon Town Hall from 11am–1pm, featuring drum workshops, balloon twisting, art activities and hands-on crafts. No bookings are required for this drop-in event.

Recreation and Culture Portfolio Co-Lead, Councillor Lance Warcon, said the program combines popular returning favourites with new experiences.

“Our school holiday program continues to grow each year, offering young people a great mix of entertainment, creativity and opportunities to build new skills,” Cr Warcon said.

“As part of Queensland Youth Week, valuable training opportunities are also on offer including Life Skills Training, Barista Training, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Provide First Aid, helping young people gain practical skills for their future.”

Popular events returning to the calendar include the Tides and Tunes live music series featuring talented local musicians, Movie at the Park at Emu Park State School with a screening of Zootopia 2, and the magical Easter Wonderland, which returns for its second year with egg hunts, games, face painting and storybook characters.

The program also includes the Beach Beats Coastal Youth Festival on 11 April at Yeppoon Showgrounds, bringing young people together for live music, food, market stalls and youth-led entertainment.

All activities and events in the program are catered to for ages 0 – 25 and are free to attend.
