As Team Leader Support Services, you will provide high‑level administrative leadership and operational oversight, ensuring that support services enable teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and customer‑focused outcomes for the community.

You will lead and develop an administration team, strengthen business processes, and support good governance through accurate records, effective systems, and professional service delivery

What you will doing:

This is a senior administrative leadership role with a strong operational and people‑management focus. You will:

  • Provide high‑level administrative and operational support to the Executive Officer, Manager Development and Environment, and the Development Assessment, Built Environment, and Growth Management teams
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate an administration team, fostering a positive, high‑performing and professional work environment
  • Develop, review, and improve administrative work processes and procedures in collaboration with senior officers, ensuring best practice standards
  • Coordinate the day‑to‑day operations of support services staff, including workforce planning, resourcing, and equipment requirements
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and manage meetings, including agendas and minutes
  • Maintain and oversee specialised corporate systems, workflows, and records to support service delivery and compliance
  • Coordinate responses to complaints and issues, including researching and drafting responses for escalation where required
  • Contribute to business planning, continuous improvement, and performance development processes
  • Role model Council’s values, behaviours, and commitment to workplace health and safety 

What you will bring:

You are an experienced and capable administrative leader with strong people management and coordination skills. You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and supervising an administrative or support services team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer‑focused approach and sound conflict resolution ability
  • Well‑developed organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience preparing professional correspondence, reports, and documentation
  • Confidence using corporate systems, including information management, customer request systems, finance systems, and Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to high professional and ethical standards

Mandatory requirements

  • Relevant work experience, including experience supervising and developing an administration team
  • Current C‑class driver licence

Desirable

  • Certificate II or III in Business Administration or similar
  • Experience working in a local government environment
