Livingstone Shire Council is inviting residents to nominate their local heroes for the 2026 Australia Day Awards. These awards celebrate individuals, young people, community groups, and businesses who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in our Shire—whether through volunteering, sport, the arts, environmental initiatives, or community support.
Nominations are open across seven categories: Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Sports/Recreation, Arts/Culture, Business/Innovation/Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment, and Community.
The official awards ceremony will be held in January 2026 at the Foreshore Amphitheatre in Yeppoon, alongside the Great Australia Day Beach Party and Citizenship Ceremony, bringing together three major civic celebrations for the community.
Don’t miss this opportunity to recognise the outstanding people shaping our Shire. Submissions are easy and can be made online. Nominations close midnight Friday, 12 December 2025.
