Livingstone Shire Council Seeks Community Input for Arts and Culture Strategic Plan Review

Livingstone Shire Council has announced the launch of the engagement process to update its Arts & Cultural Strategic Plan, setting out to redefine the arts and cultural framework for the next five years in the Capricorn Coast.

The review seeks to align the strategic plan with the evolving needs of the community, recognising the importance of arts and culture in reflecting our heritage and fostering social diversity. The strategic plan, which previously covered the period from 2017 to 2022, emphasised sustainable investment, leadership, celebrating regional identity, and connecting the community through arts, heritage, and culture.

Mayor Adam Belot said with the significant population growth, it is important to undertake community consultation on the Council’s Arts & Cultural Strategic Plan.

"With the dynamic growth in our community, it’s important that our Arts and Cultural Strategic Plan resonates with and supports the diverse needs of our population.

“This review is a call to action for everyone in our community to help shape our cultural future. Arts and culture play pivotal roles in inspiring, educating, and uniting us, and your input is crucial in this planning process.

“This is your opportunity to influence how we support arts and culture in Livingstone. We value your feedback as it helps us craft a plan that not only meets but enriches our community's cultural experience,” Mr Belot said.

Council invites all residents to provide their insights and suggestions. This feedback will be instrumental in tailoring the strategic plan to better meet current and future cultural needs.
