The Community Nursery, located at Yeppoon Landfill, is open to the public on Wednesday and Friday 8.00am to 3.00pm.
The nursery grows and sells species endemic to Capricornia from seeds that we collect. They usually have from fifty to a hundred different species in stock. Stock availability is dependent upon the time of year, seed availability, current orders/projects, and propagation requirements.
The nursery sells plants to the public for a discounted rate and can provide advice as required to the community.
They also supply plants to community revegetation projects i.e. Fitzroy Basin Authority, Landcare, and Livingstone Shire Council projects.
The nursery relies on the hard work and effort of our volunteers who help out with various nursery tasks each Wednesday and Friday. They contribute approximately 3000 hours of work annually.
