Cr Pat Eastwood was today appointed as Deputy Mayor at Livingstone Shire Council’s post-election meeting.

Cr Eastwood said he was honoured to be nominated for the position and is looking forward to fulfilling the important role on behalf of the Livingstone community.

“It’s an honour to be elected as Deputy Mayor of Livingstone Shire Council, and first and foremost I want to thank the councillors who have placed their faith in me to carry out this extremely important role,”

“I make a commitment to the Livingstone Shire that I will serve you as your Deputy Mayor and I will do my utmost to support our Mayor Adam Belot in his role in leading our community and driving our region forward,” he said.

The new Council also voted to appoint Mayor Adam Belot as Chairperson and Councillor Glenda Mather as Deputy Chairperson of the Livingstone Shire Local Disaster Management Group.

Council resolved to schedule its Ordinary Meetings on the third Tuesday of each calendar month, but deferred consideration of portfolio allocation and committee creation until these could be workshopped further – but at the earliest opportunity.
