Matthew Flinders Drive

Reconstruction Project - Stage 2

This reconstruction project will include the renewal of the road pavement and upgrades to stormwater pipes, pits, kerbs and channels from Edward Street to Percy Ford Street, Cooee Bay. 

Benefits

Provision of a higher level of safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Stormwater upgrades will result in better management of surface water during rain storms.

Estimated cost

$1,690,000 (fully funded by the Queensland Government through the Works for Queensland program)

January 2022

Completion of Matthew Flinders Drive Stage 2

Stage 2 of upgrades to Matthew Flinders Drive in Cooee Bay are now complete, thanks to funding from the Queensland Government.

The estimated $1.69m reconstruction project, fully funded under the Works for Queensland (W4Q) program, will improve safety as well as the road’s life span.
