The
Livingstone Shire, with funding from the Federal &
State Governments, commissioned a Storm Tide Hazard
Assessment of the Capricorn Coast, to be carried out.
The "Capricorn Coast Storm Tide Hazard
Investigation" report, as produced by Connell
Wagner identifies and quantifies areas of risk
associated with storm surges which impact on the coastal
communities of Livingstone Shire. Select

In
an effort to maximise on the report, Livingstone Shire
has generated mapping depicting recommended habitable
building floor levels, which have been derived using
supplied and interpolated data from the report,
for those areas defined as potential storm tide
inundation areas.

depicting Recommended Floor Levels for Habitable Areas
for Coastal and Inland sites, potentially affected by
storm surge.

an example and explanation on how to use the maps and
associated legends, refer to the Examples

Disclaimer
1 in 100 year minimum
habitable building floor level zones shown in these
maps are indicative only, based on available
topographic data, with low levels of accuracy.
Confirmation of applicable minimum habitable room
building floor levels for storm tide hazards should be
undertaken by appropriately qualified persons.
Groundproofing of the base
topographical data is required to complement predicted
inundation. Similar onsite confirmation may be
required for minimum habitable room building floor
levels
