Livingstone
Shire Council operates full service branches at Yeppoon, Emu Park,
and Byfield, offering loans, information and Internet services for
members. Small community branches operate at Marlborough and
Ogmore, and volunteer library services are offered at Stanage and
Mt Chalmers. For hours of operation, see the Branches link above. Library
services for young people aged 13-25 are also offered at
Council’s Youth Lounge verbYL

Our
catalog is available for viewing on-line (click
here) and in addition library members can renew loans and
reserve items on-line. Library members wishing to activate a PIN
code to activate this function should contact any Livingstone
Shire full service branch.

Poetry
Slam – The State Library of Queensland brings the Poetry
Slam phenomenon to Yeppoon! If you are a poet, performer or writer
join in the fun workshops with renowned poetry slammer David
“Ghostboy” Stavanger to find out what it’s all about. Then
if you feel up to it, compete in one of the State heats at the
Village Arts Festival, where you will have 2 minutes to impress
the audience with your poem/monologue/story. Free workshops for
young people (13+) will be held at verbYL on Thursday 16th
August 7-9 pm; and for adults at the Community Development Centre
(next to Yeppoon Library) on Friday 17th august 1-3 pm.
Touring
Exhibition – “What we want,” a delightful exhibition of
satirical and political prints from newspapers of the day
depicting the struggle for women’s suffrage in Queensland in the
early 20th century. At Yeppoon Library from August 25
– Sept 22. (This touring exhibition is supplied by the State
Library of Queensland.)
