  1. Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop with Michael Fix

Learn the fine art of fingerstyle guitar and explore the mechanics of arranging popular tunes in a variety of styles for solo guitar. Michael has one rule: "there are no rules!" and this idea is reinforced by demonstrating thought-provoking ideas, tips and tricks. Michael presents his workshops in a breezy, humorous style, answering questions and addressing issues with personal anecdotes. As Michael explains at the beginning of each session: "we are here because we all have one thing in common - we all love the guitar! There are no secrets here - I'm happy to show you anything you wish to know about."

  2. Acoustic Guitar Spectacular

A hand-picked group of internationally recognised acoustic guitarists from across the globe join forces to weave memorable musical magic. Internationally acclaimed Brisbane acoustic guitarist Michael Fix – recently named as one of Australia’s Top 25 Guitarists of All Time by readers of Guitarist Australia magazine – will be joined by high-energy Italian virtuoso Andrea Valeri and Queensland’s own funky finger-stylist Sarah Koppen for a series of very special concerts.

  1. NAIDOC 2018 Gawula Aboriginal Land Trust Mountain Climb and Family Fun Day

    The Gawula Aboriginal Land Trust will hold a FREE mountain climb on Gai-i with lunch provided on return. Together we can celebrate the return of Darumbul names Gai-i and Baga. All welcome HOWEVER only those aged 16 and over are permitted to climb. They provide personal development, acceptance, encouragement, friendship, inspiration and mutual support. If you are struggling with your mental health or any life issues then come along to a meeting or give us a call and we can tell you more about our program. Anyone is welcome to come. There is no cost to attend. Meetings are held weekly. People using the program over time describe a more connected, resilient, meaningful and happier life. Socials are held regularly as well.
