  6. Yeppoon Cyclone Shelter Activity

    Do you know what to do in the event of a cyclone? Is your property in a high-risk storm tide area? Livingstone Shire Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) wants residents to be prepared, know if they are in an at-risk storm tide area, be aware of their sheltering options and participate in a cyclone evacuation exercise on Saturday 27 September. The Evacuation Exercise will take people through the process of accessing transport to the shelter, registering to enter, and then taking on a role as an evacuee to experience the shelter in all stages to lock down. Emergency Services Officers will be on hand to answer questions. Lunch will be provided and all participants will be entered into a prize draw to thank them for their participation. Transport pickup points will be available to and from the Yeppoon Cyclone Shelter.   7. Make a Fascinator Workshop

    Workshop will be lead by Wendy White of Bush Buddies. Participants will learn millinery techniques to create their own beautiful fascinator in a fun atmosphere. Using a base and flowers, award-winning milliner Wendy White will share her skills to assist participants in the design and creation of their individual fascinator.
