Livingstone Shire Council is inviting residents and visitors to ‘Get into Nature and Grow’ for National Tree Day on Sunday 27 July at Mulambin Beach. Each year over 200,000 people take part in National Tree Day events at 3,000 sites organised by councils, schools, businesses and communities. This is a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and the local community and this year we are aiming to plant 1,500 trees and shrubs at Mulambin Beach so it is hoped that a large group of volunteers will come along on the day. Some tools will be provided but don't forget to bring covered footwear, hat and gloves. All of this rewarding work will create an appetite, so a sausage sizzle and light refreshments will be provided.
