  1. "Snippets from the Front" Exhibition

    The Emu Park Gallery will be exhibiting the works of Ross Coulter "Snippets from the Front" as well as current artists work based on the theme of Anzac/war. These works will include paintings, drawings, printmaking, mosaic and sculptures on this theme.

  1. National Heritage Week

    Australian Heritage Week is an annual national celebration of Australia’s unique heritage. It is an opportunity for all Australians to join together to celebrate our shared and special heritage. Australian Heritage Week will run from Saturday 11 April until Sunday 19 April.

  2. Art Exhibition Launch - Schools' Centenary of ANZAC Art Project

    17 April, 6:30 PM @ Yeppoon Town Hall

    Over 200 students from 16 different schools across our Shire were given a blank piece of plywood to create a thoughtful and respectful commemorative piece that truly captured what the ANZAC spirit of mateship, camaraderie, and sacrifice meant to them. Each school embraced the 'Spirit of Anzac' theme in various mediums from paint and pencils to collages and 3D works that will officially be revealed on Friday 17 April at 6:30pm. These works will remain on display at the Yeppoon Town Hall for the next three months from 9am - 3pm. This is truly a unique and wonderful exhibition that everyone should make time to view.

  4. Commissioning of the Emu Park Centenary of ANZAC Commemorative Project

    The commissioning of the Emu Park Centenary of ANZAC Commemorative Precinct on Saturday 18 April will be a historic event during our week-long commemorations and one of national significance. The Project has created a historic landmark for our region, and a focal point to honour both the Spirit of ANZAC and all the men and women who have served in the defense of our nation. The picturesque Interpretive Memorial Walkway embraces a spectacular headland that overlooks the Keppel Islands that has its own direct link to our region's war heritage. The precinct will recount, preserve and honour the history of our proud war heritage and those who created it through outstanding service and sacrifice. The stories of those who served with distinction will be appropriately enshrined within the commemorative walkway and precinct.

  5. Gala Dinner - Centenary of ANZAC Commemoration

    18 April, 6:00 PM @ Yeppoon Town Hall

    The Centenary of ANZAC Gala Dinner is a signature event that will bring together RSL Clubs and community members to acknowledge and honour all those who contributed wholeheartedly to ensure our local 100 years of ANZAC commemorations were brought to fruition across the Shire. The two-course alternate drop meal includes a main and dessert, with a full cash bar operating. Special guest speaker and Rat of Tobruk, Gordon Wallace, will share his first-hand WWII experiences in what is sure to captivate guests. David Wenitong and his band will entertain guests after the formal proceedings.

  6. Yeppoon Cenotaph Dedication Ceremony and Military Museum Open Afternoon

    19 April, 1:00 PM @ Beaman Park

    On Sunday 19 April at 1pm the official commissioning of new commemorative works and memorials will take place at the Yeppoon Cenotaph in Beaman Park. The commissioning of the new additions will enhance and lend a dignified air to the various commemorative events that will be held there each year as well as create a reflective space for our community to experience. Then gain a sense of the history, mateship and trials of our local troops who served in all the wars from WWI and WWII through to Vietnam when the Yeppoon Military Museum opens its doors for the afternoon.

  7. Art Exhibition - Ross Coulter Snippets from the Western Front

    19 April, 4:00 PM @ The Emu Park Gallery

    To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli, the Emu Park Gallery will feature the work of the late Ross Coulter and his exhibition "Snippets from the Western Front". This exhibition is a collection of 11 watercolours and 12 drawings, the result of Ross visiting towns, cemeteries, battlefields and memorials of soldiers who served the British Empire. The selection of subjects was a result of their emotional impact, historical significance, or beauty to the artist.

    Join us at the Yeppoon Town Hall for a special showing of "Beneath Hill 60", the extraordinary true story of Queensland miner Oliver Woodward who must tear himself from his new love to go to the mud and carnage of the Western Front deep beneath the German lines.

  10. At the Movies - War Horse

    Join us at the Yeppoon Town Hall for a special showing of Oscar nominated film "War Horse", the story of young Albert who enlists to serve in World War 1 after his beloved horse is sold to the calvary. Albert's hopeful journey takes him out of England and to the front lines as the war rages on.

  11. Civic Reception - Schools' Art Exhibition Appreciation Ceremony

    22 April, 10:00 AM @ Yeppoon Town Hall

    This special event will be an opportunity for Livingstone Shire Mayor Bill Ludwig along with representatives from the Emu Park and Yeppoon RSL Clubs to formally thank and congratulate our schools, students and teachers for their participation in the Centenary of ANZAC Schools Art Exhibition. To all those involved in supporting the students and presenting the exhibition we also extend our gratitude.

  12. Emu Park RSL Centenary of ANZAC Golf Day

    Smooth out your swing at the Emu Park RSL Centenary of ANZAC Golf Day will all proceeds going towards construction of the Emu Park Centenary of ANZAC Memorial. Tee off for some great prizes and a Monster Multi Draw Raffle. With separate competitions for Handicap and Non-Handicap golfers, including ladies, men's or mixed, there's bound to be a hole in one somewhere on the course!

    Join us for the Yeppoon ANZAC Day Street March and Main Service. Participants will march from the Yeppoon Railway Station to the Beaman Park Centograph. The ANZAC Day Main Service will begin at 9:30am with lunch to follow at the Yeppoon RSL Club.

    Join us for the Emu Park ANZAC Day Street March and Main Service. Participants will march from the Pine Beach Hotel to the Emu Park RSL. The ANZAC Day Main Service will begin at 9:30am at the Emu Park RSL.

    The ANZAC Day Main Service will be held in Stanage Bay at Memorial Park beginning at 11am, Lunch will be provided following the service at the Stanage Bay Store.

  27. Festival of the Wind - ANZAC Tribute

    Bring your family and friends along for this Centenary of ANZAC tribute day flying kites or watching them sail high in the sky at the annual Festival of the Wind. At dusk take part in the special commemorative Candlelight Walk from the pier up to the Singing Ship and down to the ANZAC memorial precinct, followed by a bugler playing the Last Post to signal the end of the ANZAC Centenary commemorations.
