"A Castle in Italy" - 2013 - French - Rated MA - runs 104 mins - Life's rich tapestry unravels in this French-Italian ensemble comedy as a family faces the decision to sell their castle. Set in between the picturesque region of Piedmont in Italy and the bustling city of Paris. "A Castle in Italy" follows the trials and tribulations of Louise as she struggles to keep her once wealthy family together. This film deftly shifts between humour and poignancy to deliver a satisfying and visually beautiful exploration of family, relationships and mortality. The semi-autobiographical feature, written, directed and starring Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, "A Castle in Italy" was the only film by a female filmmaker in competition in the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.
