Round 2 of the 2018/19 Livingstone Community Grants opens next week!

Local clubs and community groups are the lifeblood of our region, and Council is encouraging them to apply in the upcoming round of the Livingstone Community Grants!

The Livingstone Community Grants, proudly supported by Livingstone Shire Council, Keppel Bay Sailing Club and Inverness Yeppoon, provides funding to community groups and sporting clubs to deliver innovative projects and programmes which respond to local community needs.

Community Development and Support Councillor Jan Kelly said the current round, opening on Monday 4 February 2019 will provide up to $2,000 to successful applications from not-for-profit community groups and sporting clubs.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local community groups and clubs with any project they would like to get off the ground but may not have the available funds to do so,” Cr Kelly said.

“Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria, be operating within the Livingstone Shire Council's Local Government Area, and providing programmes, outcomes or activities which benefit residents and improve overall community well-being.”

Livingstone Community Grants are now administered through the Smarty Grants online platform.

SmartyGrants is widely used for grants distributed by Local and State Governments throughout Australia.

Cr Kelly said local clubs and community groups are encouraged to attend the free information sessions being held next week. This will assist applicants in gaining a greater understanding of the grants process and assist groups to submit the best application possible.

“Groups are invited to attend the Livingstone Community Grants Education Sessions to be held on Monday, 4 February from 6pm at the Community Education Room in the ‘The Hub’ Beaman Park, Yeppoon. Or on Thursday, 7 February 2019 from 6pm at Emu Park Cultural Hall,” Cr Kelly said.
