Babushka Cabaret is back again to delight Capricorn Coast audience

Can you keep a secret? The Babushka girls can!

Yeppoon Town Hall invites the Babushka Cabaret girls back to entertain the Capricorn Coast with their new show I Can Keep A Secret this weekend.

Sit back while the girls let you delve into their intimate confessional box for a quirky musical celebration where Kylie crash tackles Carmen and Wagner meets Billy Idol, all whilst featuring the fabulous flaws and naughty little secrets that we all keep close to our chest.

This adult-themed cabaret entertainment combines the talents of award winning performers Alicia Cush, Bethan Ellsmore and Judith Hainsworth who have teamed up once again with accompanist Luke Volker. Together they delighted audiences in Yeppoon last year with their acclaimed show, Doll.

Pushing the boundaries of traditional cabaret through their unique crossover arrangements, mash-ups and musical sketches, the girls have won the hearts of classical music buffs and indie music nerds alike.

Their repertoire explores the spectrum of theatrical music from full-blown operatic arias, cabaret tearjerkers and pop gems set to luscious three part harmony.

Community Development Councillor Jan Kelly said after the ladies’ last theatrical performance of Dolls on the Capricorn Coast, the Babushka girls are back and even better than before, with a show not to be missed.

“I would urge all theatre, music and comedy lovers to come along to their show. These performances have a little bit of something for everyone and you will not walk away disappointed,” Cr Kelly said.

“What’s even better is whilst the performers are in town they’ll be sharing their skills at a fun and creative style Cabaret Workshop with local performers.”

I Can Keep a Secret will be held at Yeppoon Town Hall on Saturday 16 September, from 7.30pm. A bar run by Keppel Coast Arts will also be open on the night from 7pm.

Tickets are $20 for Adults and $15 for concession. For bookings please phone 4913 5000 or purchase tickets which are now on sale at Council’s Customer Service Centres.

The Cabaret Workshop will take place on Saturday 16 September from 1pm until 3pm and bookings are required.

Please contact 4913 3857 to book your place and for more information on attending this workshop.
