Nominate your business in the 2017 Capricornia Business Awards

Time is running out to nominate your business in the 2017 Capricornia Business Awards!

The Capricornia Business Awards is a prestigious night of celebration; honouring businesses, organisations and individuals who are highly successful in their chosen field.

With a vast range of categories from Best Small Business, Most Innovative Business to Best Young Entrepreneur, the categories are as diverse as the businesses that exist here in Central Queensland.

Last year’s Best New Business Award winner and Capricorn Coast local Shannon Hawkes, owner of Shannon Hawkes Artisan Florals said the experience had helped with exposing her work to an even wider audience.

“The Capricornia Business Awards really helped my business with greater exposure, and we’ve been getting busier ever since,” Shannon said.

“I’m based in Yeppoon, but we deliver flowers across the region including Rockhampton through to Emu Park. We’re also very busy providing floral arrangements and installations for weddings across Central Queensland and big events like the Capricorn Animal Aid Ball and the Food and Wine Festival this weekend.

“To receive the award was so exciting, I was shocked when it was announced but it has certainly had a positive impact on the productivity of my business. I would most definitely encourage local businesses across our region to get involved.”

Economic Development Councillor Graham Scott said the annual event showcased the exciting and growing potential of the Central Queensland business community.

“It’s important to hold events such as the Capricornia Business Awards to celebrate the wonderful work being generated across a wide range of industries, while also keeping our local business community connected and interacting with one another,” Cr Scott said.

A stand out category which identifies a crowd-favourite within the community is the esteemed People’s Choice Award, which recognises a leading business in the community and is nominated for by the general public.

Businesses and individuals can nominate their business in any of the 12 categories available, through an easy online nomination form at http://www.capricorniabusinessawards.com.au/award-categories/ Nominations close Friday, 15 September 2017.
