Who are we? Livingstone Shire Council's Youth Services provide a range of services to the young people of Livingstone Shire (aged 12 to 25) to increase young peoples opportunities within their community.
What do we offer? Information, Advice and Referral. Youth Services can assist young people to find the support they seek locally, whether it be related to school, housing, relationships, boredom or stress. We can connect young people with locally based; - Sports and recreation activities and/or - Arts and cultural opportunities and/or - Volunteering opportunities.
One on one support Youth Services can provide individual case management for young people who like to further develop their life skills, coping skills, social skills and self esteem. This service is available to those aged 12 to 18, living in Yeppoon or Emu Park and at risk of disconnection.

Alternative Learning Space The Alternative Learning Space, at the Community Centre in Yeppoon, is a flexible access point for students who wish to attend to their studies as negotiated with the Capricornia School of Distance Education. It is supported by Livingstone Shire Council Youth Services, Capricorn Coast PCYC, the Capricornia School of Distance Education and Yeppoon State High School. The Alternative Learning Space Yeppoon operates from Council’s Community Centre and provides an alternative form of education to students who have dis-engaged from mainstream schooling and wish to continue their education through CQ Distance Education. This space is delivered as a partnership between Livingstone Shire Council, PCYC and CQ Distance Education.

Community events Youth Services organises a variety of opportunities within the community that appeal to young people to reduce boredom and increase the connection between young people and their community.
The 2014 Livingstone Youth Needs Analysis was commissioned for the purpose of providing Council with key demographic data, trends, issues, opportunities and other critical information about young people who reside in our Shire.
Council’s Community Partnerships Unit – Youth Services Programme and Sport and Education Programme are using this report to aid future planning.
