This service can help with a range of family and parenting challenges. The Child and Family Connect team will talk with you about your situation and work out the type of support you might find helpful. They can connect you to local services that can help with: 

  • managing your child's behaviour
  • stopping violence at home
  • budgeting and managing money
  • alcohol, drugs or gambling problems
  • health care, housing or access to other community or government services

Red Cross

Helps people get their family's health and well-being on track by supporting vulnerable parents through the Red Cross family services, including support for children and families, support for young people, and mental health services.

Helem Yumba Central Queensland Health Centre

This healing centre provides a range of therapeutic supports and cultural healing programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people in Rockhampton, Mount Morgan and Woorabinda. Helem Yumba works with individuals, couples, families and community groups to address violence and trauma. These programs include:
  • women's programs
  • dads on the inside/fathers being dads
  • male behaviour change program
  • counselling services
  • case management support

Central Queensland Indigenous Development (CQID) - Family Support Service

Provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families through direct support within the family home and local community in Central Queensland. CQID provides an early intervention approach for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children that are vulnerable or at risk of entering the child protection system.
