WASTE AND RECYCLING
Council is committed to increasing the reuse and recycling of materials and reducing waste to landfill within Livingstone Shire.
Council's vision is to guide the shire in the continual improvement of its waste management practices through innovation, education and promotion of reducing, reusing and recycling of waste streams as the key priorities.

DOMESTIC WASTE DISPOSAL
Weekly general waste and fortnightly recycling collections are provided by Council in declared garbage areas. These services are performed under contract by JJ Richards.

  • On your collection day, please ensure your bins are placed on the kerbside by 6.00 am. Face the lid openings to the road, no more than a metre from the kerbside or road edge and at least one metre apart when there is more than one bin.
  • Large domestic items, commercial, industrial and hazardous waste should NOT be placed in the domestic bins. These items must be disposed of at an appropriate Council Waste Disposal Facility.

EFTPOS FACILITIES
Eftpos is available at the Yeppoon Landfill ONLY. All other Waste Disposal Facilities accept cash ONLY.

DOMESTIC WASTE VOUCHERS
Domestic general waste can be deposited at any Waste Facility for no charge if a domestic waste voucher is presented at time of entry.
Remember: Recyclables can be dropped off FREE.
Exclusions: Tyres, Mattresses, Regulated waste, Commercial waste.
