Current Planning Scheme

The Livingstone Shire Planning Scheme guides the way land, buildings and structures are used and developed in the Livingstone Shire, ensuring the right development happens in the appropriate locations.

Under the Integrated Planning Act (IPA) 1997, the superseded planning scheme was replaced by the Livingstone Shire Planning Scheme which took effect on 17 October, 2005.

The Livingstone Shire Planning Scheme has since undergone six further amendments since its adoption, and the current version is Livingstone Shire Planning Scheme - Reprint 6, effective as at 19 June 2009.

Livingstone Council is currently drafting a new Livingstone Shire Planning Scheme to replace the current 2009 Scheme.
