2005 Planning Scheme (reprint 7)

The 2005 Planning Scheme (reprint 7) became a superseded scheme with the commencement of the Livingstone Planning Scheme 2018 on 1 May 2018. See below and left for links to all available documents relating to the superseded 2005 Planning Scheme (reprint 7).

With the commencement of the Planning Act 2016 on 3 July 2017, there was an opportunity to make appropriate changes to the 2005 Planning Scheme to align the language and rules with the new legislation. This was completed and commenced on 10 July 2017.

Planning Scheme 2005 – Living for Lifestyle, together with the associated zoning and overlay maps comprises the planning scheme for Livingstone Shire adopted by the Council of the Shire of Livingstone.


  1. Livingstone Shire Council originally prepared this planning scheme as a framework for managing development in a way that advanced the purpose of the Integrated Planning Act 1997.  
  2. This planning scheme has been amended for alignment with the Planning Act 2016 (the Act) by the Minister’s rules under section 293 of the Act on 10 July 2017.
  3. This planning scheme identifies:

    (a)          accepted development, accepted development with requirements and assessable development; and
    (b)          outcomes sought to be achieved in the planning scheme area as the context for assessing development.
